It’s official! I’ve commited myself to participating in Camp NaNoWriMo in July. Being finished with school, I’m excited to finally be able to devote my writing to my own works.
It feels a little strange to be reaching a point in my life where I finally get to put my writing first. Up to this point, my focus was on just getting by; working to pay bills, sacrificing all else to make sure the people most important to me had what they needed to thrive, even if that meant they didn’t have me as much as they…we…wanted. The road has been long, and the journey so difficult that it defies belief. It’s taken me 40-some-odd years to get here, but now that I’m here, I hope to make the most of it.
